Freshman Year Recap

A note to August me...

Taking the out of state and know-no-one approach to my college experience left me nervous as my summer ended.

However, the butterflies would have settled if I only knew how many fulfilling friendships I would find within Chi Omega.

My first memory of being a Hootie was turning to my now-best friend on bid day and yelling “WE ARE SISTERS, I’VE NEVER HAD A SISTER!” It was an odd introduction, but we’ve been attached at the hip ever since.

My following memories were filled with an abundance of sisterhood events, Vol football games, AMAZING chef Amber’s cooking, disco date parties (the most fun social event ever...I felt like a real-life version of Daisy Jones and The Six #ifykyk), and exciting new friendships. I began to surround myself with girls who not only loved me for my ~insane, breathtaking, cohesive~ dance moves but also my weird quirks and econ facts. Together, we became the SAY YES group. Country concert? Yes! Library sesh? Yes! Hiking? Yes! Hometown visit? Yes! And so much more.

Overall, Chi Omega brought me my day-to-night best friends and flourished my ability to get out of my comfort zone. From manning a hot air balloon and RIDING IN ONE (oh my...please volunteer at the Great Smokey Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival) to deli day and good company, my freshman year was better than I could have imagined all thanks to Chi Omega.
